Martin claimed he had received the news from a Chelsea manager
Given Roman Abramovich’s willingness to break the bank and infuse money in Chelsea, the Premier League side always finds itself linked to a slew of names across the year. It’s a bruhaha which has never quelled since the Russian has taken over and doesn’t look to quieten any time soon.
Adding fuel to the fire of these reports has been the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. The German coach has been resplendent since taking charge of the Premier League side with him not only taking Chelsea to the top four in the Premier League but also guiding them to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
His effervescent showings are said to have prompted Roman Abramovic to already lineup a bevy of names to move for come the summer transfer window. While Erling Haaland is said to be the main source of Roman’s liking, other names have been persistently doing the rounds as well.
Adding his name to the pile of potential transfers is Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. Manifold outlets have reported that Chelsea are monitoring the striker’s position at City with the player running out of his deal with the club come the end of the season.
Martin Makes Aguero Revelation
In what has been the most conclusive source of the news till now, ESPN’s journalist, Christian Martin has gone onto claim a Chelsea manager affirming the club’s interest in Aguero. Taking to Instagram, Martin revealed he had run into a Chelsea manager who had spoken to him about Aguero and Dybala piquing the club’s interest.
Last night leaving the stadium I ran into a Chelsea manager in the parking lot. And he tells me “You always told me that we didn’t bring Argentines. Well that may change soon. Sergio interests us. And a lot. And Dybala too.”: Martin wrote on Instagram.

Aguero is also said to be a subject of Barcelona’s interest with the La Liga side extremely keen to rope him on a free. Aguero is yet to sit down with City and discuss a contract extension with such talks only occurring once the ongoing season comes to an end.
