The Real Madrid captain’s act of brinkmanship is bound to have left a sour taste in his club’s boisterous supporters

Everything is not quite hunky dory at Real Madrid at the moment.

From crashing out of the Champions League to losing ground in the fight for the La Liga trophy, the club is in a peril on the pitch. The side’s 2-2 draw to Sevilla on Sunday saw it fail to capitalise on table toppers Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid’s 0-0 draw earlier in the week.

Unfortunately for the club, its not only results on the pitch which are resulting in a quandary for the club. The side’s incessant willingness to stick with the European Super League has seen it face the ire of the footballing fraternity with Florentino Perez being lambasted for his role as the chief miscreant.

Adding to the club’s woes is the club’s captain, Sergio Ramos’ refusal to sign an extension at the club. Both Perez and Ramos are said to have hit an impasse over yearly wages with either side refusing to budge from its stance.

Ramos Follows PSG Players On Instagram

Ramos who sees his ongoing contract at Real Madrid curtail at the end of the ongoing season is now trying to court PSG. Linked hectically to the club, Ramos has provided hints over a potential move to the French capital by following a raft of PSG players on Instagram.

Ramos’ latest act of brinkmanship comes in the wake of him lauding Neymar for signing a new deal at PSG. PSG and Neymar had recently agreed a new three year deal, one which would see Neymar pocket a staggering 30 million euros per year.

Ramos took to Instagram to respond to the latest development by leaving a comment with four clap emojis.

Meanwhile, UEFA has threatened to take severe action against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, clubs who continue to form part of the Super League.
