Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu has made her way to a career best 7th place in the latest rankings. After a stellar calendar year in which the Silver Medal at the Rio Olympics was an obvious highlight, Sindhu has improved on her previous best ranking of 9th.

In the last few months of this year she won the China Open in convincing manner and then later on reached the finals of the Hong Kong Open. All this combined to give her a total score of 68,699 points. (Sindhu And Saina Are Among The Best In The World)
She will be India’s biggest hope as she will look to give a strong showing in the Dubai Super Series Final for which she has qualified for the first time in her career.

That was a tag that was held previously by Saina Nehwal. The former World No 1 is on a comeback trail after she had a serious knee operation just a few months back.
After a disappointing showing in the Hong Kong Open, Saina’s world rankings took a major hit as she slipped outside the top ten for a the first time in years.
But she has improved on that and has finished the year on the 10th position as she looks to make her way back up the world rankings. (Sindhu And Saina Are Among The Best In The World)
Sameer Verma who made the finals of the Hong Kong Open has jumped 13 places to the 30th position as his sudden rise in the world circuit has been reflected in the rankings.
Indian Badminton will now be in the hands of these people and we have good reason to be optimistic.
