Solskjaer on Mourinho: Manchester United’s caretaker manager responds to Mourinho’s seeming dig at Paul Pogba.
Manchester United have been impressive under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far. The side is on a six-match winning run, and are yet to drop points in the Premier League under his charge.
United are also level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal and are only three points behind Chelsea who are fourth.
Interestingly, at the time of Mourinho’s sacking at the club, United were 11 points behind Unai Emery’s side.
Jose Mourinho made his first television appearance for beIN Sports earlier this week, where he opened up on the player-manager relationship and also seemingly took a swipe at Paul Pogba.
Solskjaer has now responded to Mourinho’s comments.
Solskjaer on Mourinho:
The caretaker manager stated that he enjoys working with the team and cannot comment on Mourinho’s remarks.
“I can’t really comment on everything he says and I’m enjoying working with these boys and that’s all I can say,” Solskjaer stated.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has appeared to aim a dig at Jose Mourinho over his “Stupid” tactics.
Solskjaer said : “It’s about attacking, about power, about pace, that’s what Manchester United are built around. Attacking football and going forward, not stupid square and back passes.” pic.twitter.com/77genCq2dO

Mourinho: “Sometimes we comment what we see, but we don’t know what’s behind the scenes and that’s what influences what we see. I consider one of the best jobs of my career to finish second with United in the Premier League.” #mufc [beIN] pic.twitter.com/cTBFOdj7Kk

However, Solskjaer insisted that Mourinho will have little difficulty in finding a new managerial role in future.
“Yeah, why shouldn’t he [on being asked about Mourinho’s future in top level management] because he’s a fantastic manager and with the results he’s had at [I] don’t think he’ll be struggling for work.”
Earlier, Mourinho spoke about player-manager relationship in his first television appearance since being sacked as Manchester United’s manager.
“We are not any more in the time where the coach by himself is powerful enough to cope and have a relationship of education and sometimes confrontation with players who are not the best professionals. The coaches nowadays they need a structure,” said the former Manchester United manager.
Mourinho: “The phrase I kept with me, the biggest one in the Premier League, Sir Alex told – ‘the day a player is more important than the club, goodbye!’ – not anymore. The manager is there to coach them. Not to keep discipline at any cost.” #mufc [beIN] pic.twitter.com/s4GxJkDlqX

“A club must have an owner or a president, a CEO or an executive director, a sports director or a football director, and then the manager. This is a structure that can cope with all the problems that modernity is bringing to all of us.”
