Thankfully, Sophia came out of the accident alive and was able to speak to her family, friends and fans in a couple of days.
Ever since she has started her rehabilitation and is extremely focussed towards getting her body ready for the race track.
She has been pretty active on social media post the crash, keeping people informed about her well-being and how she is progressing after her surgery.
In her most recent post, she is seen catching up with Daniel Ricciardo in Dubai, with the duo sporting an ear to ear smile, suggesting that Sophia is slowly but surely recovering from the crash and the surgery.
Sophia flew back home a few days back, providing an update that she was allowed to travel and was discharged from the hospital post the surgery.
Whilst travelling back home, Sophia also met Daniel Ricciardo at the Dubai airport, labelling him as the coolest Aussie driver.
“Look who I met at Dubai airport before flying home earlier this week. Coolest Aussie driver” Sophia said.
