Sourav Ganguly latest news: The newly-elected President of the BCCI suggested the former all-rounder “to do good for the game”.

The announcement of former India captain Sourav Ganguly set to become the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) President has taken the whole cricketing fraternity in India by storm.

Ganguly, who had led India in difficult times during his playing days, is expected to play a similar role for the cricket board hasn’t been in the best of position administratively in the recent years.

Since the news had been made public, Ganguly received congratulatory messages from former Indian cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman and others.

Among one of the recent congratulatory message was from former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, ended up taking a dig at the previous administrators with respect to handling him before his retirement.

Much like other former teammates of Ganguly, even Yuvraj received acknowledgement from the newly-elected BCCI President. Ganguly laid emphasis on “doing good for the game” in his reply to Yuvraj.

There is no hiding to the fact that Ganguly played a pivotal role in Yuvraj’s career especially during his formative years as an international cricket. After retiring from international cricketer, Yuvraj played in the Global T20 League in Canada in July-August.
