Indian football has been tirelessly working to put itself on the global football map, but sadly the infrastructure facilities in the country limit the potential of India’s budding football stars.

They dream, they try but they don’t succeed. And that is mainly because of the umpteen hindrances that present themselves whilst training in India. Prospective Indian footballers want to have a career for themselves in the sport that they love, but at the moment, India fails to fulfill their dreams.

While India is trying its utmost to come up with better infrastructure and training facilities, time is running out for a lot of these budding footballers, who need to indulge in full-time training at the earliest in order to realize their dream of making a career in football.

This is why The SportsRush wants to help create a bridge between budding Indian Footballers and training academies in Europe, which have been functioning for the past few decades, and have helped shape the careers of thousands of footballers.

We have partnered with the Spanish Pro Football (SPF) academy in order to help aspiring Indian footballers to train under and with the world’s best.

Spain’s rich footballing history combined with SPF’s world-class training facility is the perfect recipe for kick starting a career in football.

The Spanish Pro Football Academy in the Valencia region has been working towards providing players the opportunity to feature in the u23, u19, u16 and u14 league, playing for some of the best teams in the area, and getting a chance to compete with Villareal, Levante and Valencia.

Their philosophy of “the ball as protagonist” and their intense training methodology helps them differentiate themselves from other high-profile academies in the region. All their coaches are UEFA certified and are proficient enough to create a pathway to glory for aspiring footballers.

Before going into the intricacies, we would like to bring to the fore two Indian kids, Nikhil and Kapil, who have been flourishing at SPF, training day in and day out to make a footballing career for themselves.

Kapil is currently playing in the 3rd division of the U-19 league in Spain. He is adapting to the style of play and is getting some quality minutes in the Spanish league; gaining some much needed match experience every weekend.

Nikhil is currently playing in the semi-professional league that consists of top Spanish players and scouts.

The rigorous training regime, match practice and exposure is helping these two Indian kids inch one step closer to realizing their footballing dream. If they can, you can too.

Short and Long Term (education included) training is provided at SPF and the entire training structure (included price) will be defined after knowing the individual’s needs.

Details about training methods, education and accommodation are as follows.

SPF Training Methods

SPF works with high intensity football trainings on pitch during 1:45h training session to develop and improve the individual’s technique. The training is conducted three days per week, conducted by their profesional coaches. After the individual analysis of each player, the exercises focus on their deficiencies or weaknesses. The trainings are very intensive taking advantage of every minute and don’t last for more than 1:45 or 2h and there aren’t any exercises without a ball. Their methodology is very realistic and focuses the work on what the players are going to find in a match.

  • Both feets passes and shoots
  • One against one
  • Long and short balls
  • Air and shallow control
  • Goal shots
  • Crosses
  • Pressure and force with the position of the body
  • Speed in the conduction of the ball (improvement of the dribble)
  • Psychomotricity exercises

Other sessions are focussed on improving group tactics. Players learn to read the needs of the game and to get a better positional sense.

  • Individual tactics (the importance of correct position in the field)
  • And defensive and offensive tactics.

Everything said, it is very important for young Indian footballers to acclimatize and adjust to the surroundings when travelling to foreign countries to receive coaching. Valencia’s proximity to the Mediterranean ensures that the climate would be very similar to what it is in India, hence making the kid feel at home.

Accommodation

Different accommodations depending on the age of the player

  • Boarding in private school with 24h surveillance and sports activities, leisure and extra study throughout the week.
  • High quality studens and sportsmen residence in the city center which has its own kitchen, balanced menus, study rooms, TV room, games room and play station, single or double rooms with bathroom, and a magnificent and complete gym 24h.

All players have private health insurance and access to physiotherapists.

Gym enrollment, private transport and Valencia CF Stadium season ticket are other services included.

SPF has many international players coming from different cultures and countries, so it tries to be as inclusive as possible with respect to prayer timings and food requirements/restrictions for children coming from all over the world.

Education(if opting for long-term training program)

SPF also focuses on the player’s education, exposing them to various UEFA coaching courses, language courses and providing them with University access.

All in all the SPF academy takes care of everything that an aspiring professional footballer would need, right from the environment to the coaches to the methodology.

Hop on, it could be the ride of your life!
