SRH playoff chances

SRH playoff chances: The Sportsrush presents before you Sunrisers Hyderabad’s prospects of qualifying for IPL 2019 playoffs.

With six wins and six losses in the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently at No. 4 in the points table. A primary reason behind them being at the middle of the table is their mediocre performance this season.

Barring opening batsmen David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, others not standing tall on the expectations have hurt the runners-up team of IPL 2018. Another facet which has seen them struggling is the constant change in captaincy between Kane Williamson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

However, with Williamson back as captain and Manish Pandey taking responsibility with the bat in hand, SRH look a much better side in the competition.

SRH playoff chances

If SRH win both their matches

Currently at 12 points, Sunrisers Hyderabad will doubtlessly qualify for the playoffs with 16 points if they win both their matches.

If SRH loses against Mumbai Indians tomorrow

The first of Hyderabad’s two matches will be played against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium tomorrow. If SRH loses the match, their second match against Royal Challengers Bangalore will become a near must-win encounter for them.

On the other hand, they will also be hoping for Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab to win not more than one match. If the same happens, Sunrisers will qualify with 14 points to their name. If KKR or KXIP win both their matches, qualification will come down to their Net Run Rate in comparison to SRH.

If SRH loses both their matches

In case of Sunrisers losing both their matches, they will have to hope that Rajasthan Royals loses their last match. Among the other scenarios, no team out of Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders should win more than one match.

If the rare case of the same happens, SRH and winner of KXIP vs KKR will draw level at 12 points. The team with a better Net Run Rate will then qualify for the playoffs.
