SRH vs RR Man of the match: Who was awarded Man of the Match in SRH vs RR, a contest that had three good suitors

A colossal battle between SRH and RR came to an end with a masterful flick over fine leg by Rashid Khan to take the orange army home against a well-oiled RR side.

Sanju Samson and Ajinkya Rahane set the tone for RR, with Sanju going all through to bring up an IPL hundred. It was an innings full of poise, finesse and brilliance. He ensured that RR scored over 200 and posed a massive threat to that top heavy SRH batting unit.

David Warner came to the crease with a sense of purpose about him. The Australian took the attack to the RR bowlers, not letting any of them settle into a rhythm and taking them to the cleaners in the best possible way.

He set up the chase for the SRH middle order, who then had to just come in and knock away the runs to win it for the Hyderabad franchise.

It got a little tense in the end with Shreyas Gopal striking twice in the space of two balls and pegging the Sunisers back. But in the end, Rashid Khan came to the crease and took Archer to the cleaners to finish off the game.

And for his all-round performance, Rashid Khan was awarded the man of the match. Rashid Khan took the wicket of Jos Buttler in the powerplay to tilt the game in SRH’s favour and then bowled incredibly economically to help SRH keep the Royals to a gettable total.

Rashid Khan was thankful for the award and provided insights on how his support staff is backing him up for his batting too.

“I think I just try my best to be positive in each game and I am working hard and believing in my own skills, so that’s what is working. The plan was to bowl in the good length area to Buttler. I was mixing by variations. Didn’t want to give room to batsmen. I have five different leg-spin varations with different actions. I am working on my batting. My coaches – Moody, Murali and Laxman – have always backed me.” Rashid Khan said in the post match presentation.
