The famous YouTube streamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is looking for new moderators for her str. She believes her current ones “expect more” from her than she is already doing for them.
Usually, a live stream’s comment section is open to everyone. So viewers can even end up sending some questionable things to the streamers over there. So the moderators act as a wall of defense that filters out them from the comment section.
When someone is as successful as Valkyrae, it is impossible for them to stream without moderators. She has moderators who have worked for her since the early days of her career. But now the YouTube Queen plans to get new ones, as there are some differences between them.
Valkyrae reveals why she wants new moderators
On a recent livestream, Valkyrae revealed searching for new moderators for her live streams. She also claimed to have her eyes on some regular viewers who could take up this role. But many might wonder why she is suddenly looking for new mods.
Most of Rae’s current moderators have been with her since she started streaming seven years ago. She then shared how they expect a lot from her, and some even caused a lot of drama, which now prevents Valkyrae from visiting her own Discord server.
“I’ve just had a few incidents where I’ve modded people. And some of them like expect more from me. Some of them get really parasocial, some of them like have caused drama and discourse. I think this is also why I’ve avoided going into my own Discord. Because I just like sometimes like drama just happens. And this is like stuff that’s happened a long time ago, so I’ve like avoided.”
Because of previous conflicts with moderators, the YouTube Queen is now hesitant to appoint someone as a moderator. Because she is concerned about their personalities. She is looking for people who want to do it for fun and don’t have unreasonable expectations from her.
Valkyrae further clarifies that being a moderator is not a professional career that many mistakes it for. It is just a way for fans to showcase their support for their favorite streamers by helping them. Rae also mentioned she doesn’t want her mods to abuse their authority.
