Sunil Chhetri praises fans after his historic achievement by surpassing Lionel Messi in the tally of top-scorers in the International football.

Sunil Chhetri once again made history by outscoring Lionel Messi again, to be the 2nd highest top-scorer in the in the International level football after Cristiano Ronaldo by scoring a brace against Tajikistan in the Intercontinental cup bringing his tally to 70 goals.

Therefore, Indian fans across the internet congratulated Sunil Chhetri for his remarkable achievement in the World football, as the  fans were overwhelmed seeing their skipper’s achievement.

Seeing the support from the fans, Chhetri himself thanked the fans and his team for the support and love across all the years. This gesture by the Indian International is surely laudable.

The 34-year-old has played 109 games representing team India internationally, Chhetri is also the country’s most capped players. Even though, India lost to Tajikistan by 4-2, Chhetri still had a great game after he scored two goals.

He first managed to put India on the score-sheet after scoring a Paneka penalty then secured a brace for himself in the second half of the game. Now, the 34-year-old striker is only 18 goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo to be at the top of the table.

The Indian team captain has been a long servant for the national side since years, hence, his skills have given starry-eyed football aspirants in India someone to look up to.

India are amidst the Intercontinental Cup and will face North Korea in the same tournament on this coming Saturday.
