“Tom Brady in Novak Djokovic’s Box”: Twitter Has a Field Day After Spotting NFL GOAT Supporting Serbian at Roland Garros Final

Novak Djokovic is taking on Casper Ruud in his bid to capture his 23rd Grand Slam title and third Roland Garros title and he has a special someone supporting him. Former NFL superstar Tom Brady is seated in Nole’s box along with the Serbian’s family and coaching team. It seems very fitting that the greatest athlete from one sport is present in person to witness Djokovic cement his place, if all goes to plan, as the greatest player in tennis.

It is all the more fitting that Brady is there to experience Nole’s rise to the pinnacle given the similarities between the American and the Serbian. Both have shown a mind-boggling longevity in their respective sports, continuing to perform at the highest level despite reaching an age that was previously considered too far gone for their sports. Naturally, fans were excited to see Brady cheering on the Serb in is box and they had their fun  on Twitter.

Novak Djokovic has spent most of his tennis career not necessarily being the crowd favorite. And he has never needed that to win matches as he’s shown throughout his time on a tennis court. To the contrary, he almost seems to thrive without the crowd support, seemingly being motivated to prove everyone wring and come out on top as the better player than his opponent. But when Tom Brady is supporting you, you are going to happily oblige.

Many Djokovic fans as well as neutral fans were jubilant to see the NFL great taking a seat beside Djokovic’s wife, with many throwing around words and phrases like goat and legends while some even had some jokes handy. And when an athlete of Brady’s stature makes an appearance, even the organizers get excited.

One French fan even tweeted out asking Brady to sign his jersey!

Brady isn’t the only famous athlete present at the French Open final as this Twitter user pointed out. Soccer stars like Kylian Mbappe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud are also in attendance.

While most were just happy to see this show of love between Novak Djokovic and Tom Brady, others some jokes to crack and some were even annoyed at how many times the camera is panning on the former NFL player.

Novak Djokovic did not start the final in a manner he would have wanted to, allowing Casper Ruud to break his very first service game. However, at the time of publishing, the Serbian had managed to get the break back but looking at the effort it is taking the 22-time Major champion to stay with Ruud, it is clear that if he were to lift an unprecedented 23rd Grand Slam title, it will come after a hard fought battle.
