Callum Hudson Odoi taken off after just 30 mins : The club’s supporters were up in arms over the move
Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at Chelsea has come across as both a blessing and a curse for players. Where some second fiddle names have been offered a fresh lease of life, other’s have been left on the periphery of the club’s squad.
For Callum Hudson-Odoi though, its been all hunky dory since Tuchel have been given charge of the club. The player has been asked to step into the side’s playing 11 on a string of occasions with Tuchel deciding to deploy him in the right wingback role.
Callum Hudson-Odoi Pegged On And Off
Its what made today’s set of events extremely bemusing. Initially left out of Chelsea’s playing 11, CHO was deployed By Tuchel at the onset of the second half as Chelsea chased a one goal deficit.
Coming on for Tammy Abraham in the 46th minute, Callum managed to last for only 30 minutes. The player was hooked off in the 76th minute by Tuchel, a move which left the attacking player infuriated.
Despite being clapped and appreciated by Tuchel as we made the way back to the Chelsea bench, Callum was least interested in reciprocating the action. Anger was fraught all across his face with the player being left aghast at his manager’s decision.
It was a move which left the club’s ardent supporters miffed as well. Twitter exploded ensuing the indigent with many questioning Tuchel’s reasoning.
Might be controversial but I think that’s awful man management if he’s not injured.
Really don’t think CHO was having a poor game at all.

I really like Ziyech but it’s obvious he doesn’t suit this league at all. He’s too slow at times and it makes the CHO substitution look even more questionable

The move didn’t pay off for Chelsea with Hakim Ziyech who replaced Callum being non-existent. Ziyech ended up making a measly three passes while being disposed off the ball on five occasions in just 14 minutes.
Chelsea were largely dismal infront of goal on the day with the club’s sorry finishing leaving the side devoid of a win on the day. Despite being in control of proceedings, the club failed to get past the finishing line as the home team managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw.
