The Best Potions to Brew in Minecraft

Minecraft Potions help players by giving them passive buffs in the game. Most potions require really rare items to make, which is why they are only made by people in the endgame.

Minecraft rewards creativity. It is not a fun and enticing game if everyone is using the same thing at the same time. That is why there are a lot of different options for potions that reward certain playstyles. Potions are a way to give players an edge in tough times. Making them is quite a hassle. That is why, we have compiled a list of only the best ones.

Potions have varying effects ranging from providing fire resistance to regenerating health and so much more. You could also just download a whole host of mods from CurseForge but that is a topic for another time. That being said, let us look at the list.

Contents

  • 4 Minecraft Potions to Prioritize in Your Playthrough
  • 4. Potion of Strength
  • 3. Potion of Invisibility
  • 2. Potion of Swiftness
  • Honorable Mentions: Potion of Regeneration and Fire Resistance
  • 1. Potion of Weakness

4 Minecraft Potions to Prioritize in Your Playthrough

4. Potion of Strength

The Potion of Strength has simple mechanics. It increases your attack power and the amount of damage you do to the opponent. Of course, as a default, you are going to need a brewing stand to make this potion but the results are going to be worth it. Even though it is a common potion, one cannot deny its usefulness.

All you need to make this potion is Blaze Powder and the awkward potion. This potion will increase the amount of damage you do to the opponent. The reason it is fourth on this list is because it is easier to create. However, you can enhance this potion by using the glowstone and thus increasing the damage it does but reducing the duration.

3. Potion of Invisibility

There are multiple reasons why this potion will be useful to you. However, the most common reason would be the fact that it is used to get away from harmful situations when you are surrounded. With this potion, you can avoid fighting mobs for a limited amount of time.

Use this potion to get away from enemies and regroup. Remember, this does not make you invincible, so the projectiles or damage that are coming your way will still damage you.

2. Potion of Swiftness

The potion of swiftness will increase your movement speed. This is the best if you do not want to fight the opponents and avoid them. Combined with the invisibility potion, these can help you avoid mobs like the Endermen when you take on the Ender Dragon.

Honorable Mentions: Potion of Regeneration and Fire Resistance

The former potion will constantly regenerate your health in a given period of time while the latter helps in resisting fire damage, the most potent element in the game.

1. Potion of Weakness

The potion of weakness reduces the damage that opponents do to you. In a way, it is game-breaking because it can affect every mob. Combine this with good armor and you will be a tank in the game. You can make this potion using a spider eye, an awkward potion, and a blaze powder.

We recommend using this potion when you are sure you can do burst damage to an opponent while tanking everything they give out to quickly dispatch off the opponent.

These potions will provide you with the most value during the endgame. Combined with good armor and strong weapons mobs will have a pretty hard time doing damage to you.
