If the Rio Olympics had made Sindhu a star then her victory in the Super Series confirmed her status as one of the elite badminton players in the world today.
Sindhu comfortably beat her opponents including the Saina Nehwal. The much anticipated match between the past and present stars of Indian badminton was over pretty quickly as Sindhu easily dispatched her compatriot in straight games.
And then she avenged her Olympics loss to Marin as she beat the Spaniard in a thrilling final to lift her maiden Super Series title.
