Three 2023 games to keep an eye out for

As the curtain falls on 2022, it’s time to look ahead to new games in 2023. While many titles are getting remasters and ports next year, multiple franchises are making returns with new entries as well. Aside from Street Fighter 6 and others that players have already tried out, the games considered for this list haven’t been in players’ hands for an alpha/beta. Here are three impressive titles to look out for in 2023.

3. Hogwarts Legacy

After two years of teasers and announcements, it seems that Hogwarts Legacy is almost ready for launch. Set in the Harry Potter universe, the RPG lets players explore an 1800s Hogwarts as a student, which has set the bar of expectations quite high. Recent gameplay showcases included battle footage, traversal methods, and a bunch of gameplay mechanics. As a fresh entry in a long list of 2023 games, Hogwarts Legacy has a high bar to meet on February 10, 2023.

2. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Another title that has been teased for over 2 years, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is Rocksteady’s next venture. After the disappointment that was Gotham Knights, DC fans are hoping this entrant has a lot more to offer. The latest trailer depicted a Batman that now kills, striking fear into the Suicide Squad. This entry will also be Kevin Conroy’s last appearance as Batman, following his death in 2022. No concrete release date aside from a 2023 window has been set as of now.

1. Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Described by many as a franchise that lost its way in recent years, Assassin’s Creed is looking to right the ship. Gradually shifting from its linear story, alternating between past and present segments, Assassin’s Creed grew to become a grind-filled RPG with branching choices and virtually no modern-day segment.

Right off the bat, Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s return to the series’ roots is palpable. Even returning to the middle east, many are looking at AC Mirage as a soft reboot of sorts, bringing a stealth and story focus back to the series. As of now, only a 2023 release window has been specified.
