Amidst Nickmerc’s LGBT controversy, TimTheTatman asks Call of Duty makers to remove his operator bundle from the title.
It’s an obvious act of support for his long-time friend Nick; however, Tim didn’t address the LGBT part. Tim’s tweet went viral pretty quickly and has already garnered lots of praise from the online community, and many have expressed their appreciation for Tim.
For those unaware of the ongoing Nickmercs’ LGBT controversy. On July 7th, Nick responded to a tweet about a brawl between anti-LGBT and pro-LGBT groups, resulting in three arrests. The incident took place outside a school meeting regarding whether June should be recognized as Pride Month. Nick tweeted, expressing that children should be left alone, which is the real issue.
Soon, Nick’s tweet went viral, which left the community divided. Those who considered schools should have Pride Month labeled Nick’s tweet as ‘anti-LGBTQ’ and called him a ‘bigot’. However, many stood by him, saying Nick recently became a father, and LGBT is more of a parent-child conversation instead of teachers addressing the same.
