The upcoming fourth season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is all set to commence from July 19 as the full schedule has been formally announced by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. The final match is set to take place on August 15, 2019 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
A total of eight team will participate yet again, with the defending champions Madurai Panthers to begin their campaign on the second day of the Tournament. Tuti Patriots and Chennai (now Chepauk) Super Gillies were the winners of the first and second season respectively.

As a flashback to what all were the key highlights of the 2018 edition of the successful league, we present before you the leaderboard players and the teams who made headlines in the previous edition.
TNPL 2018 most runs
With a staggering average of 78.66 in a total of ten innings, the talented batsman from Tamil Nadu and the man who was instrumental in leading the Siechem Madurai Panthers towards its maiden title the previous year- Arun Karthik had finished the 2018 season of TNPL with the ‘leading run scorer’ title beside his name.
He scored a total of 472 runs in only 10 innings at a stupendous strike rate of 153.74.
Dindigul Dragons’ N Jagadeeshan finished on the second spot with 396 runs in mere nine innings at an average of 66.

TNPL 2018 most wickets
If it was Arun Karthik in the batting department, then it was AB Tanwar in the bowling department that was instrumntal in Siecham Madurai Panthers’ grab at the TNPL 2018 trophy.
Tanwar picked up a total of 15 wickets in 10 innings at a strike rate of 14.6 to emerge as the leading wicket-taker of TNPL 2018.

TNPL 2018 Results
Enter the knock-outs, the Qualifier 1 was played between the table toppers- Dindigul Dragons and Madurai Panthers. The Panthers were obliterated by the Dragons by 75 runs, whilst chasing the target of 203/6 posted by the Dragons in 20 overs. The Dindigul Dragons went straight into the final of TNPL 2018.
The Eliminator match between Lyca Kovai Kings and Karaikudi Kaalai was won by the former by 24 runs after posting a total of 137/8 on the board in 20 overs.
The 2nd Qualifier between Madurai Panthers and Lyca Kovai Kings was won by the Panthers by 7 wickets, as they chased down the total of 125/7 posted by the Kings with 10 balls to spare.
The Grand Finale took place between the Table Toppers- Dindigul Dragons and Madurai Panthers. After scoring 203 in the Qualifier 1, the Dragons couldn’t replicate a similar kind of a performance when they needed the most. They thus managed to put a paltry 117/10 on the board.
It was a cakewalk for the Panthers as they chased down the total in just 17.1 overs and lifted the TNPL 2018 title.
