Tom Pope scores against John Stones in a match between Manchester City and Port Vale, 7 months ago he called him ‘weakasp*ss’.

Manchester City was shocked by a League Two side Port Vale after Tom Pope equalized against them in the 3rd round game in the FA Cup. However, it has brought an immediate light on John Stones.

7 months prior to this game, Pope tweed about Stones and openly blasted the English defender for his poor performances, he even stated to score past 40 goals against him.

Just watched the highlights of the England game! I know I’m a league 2 player, I know he plays for England, I know he’s on £150k a week, I know he’s a million times better player than me but I’d love to play against John Stones every week! I’d get 40 a season! #soft #weakaspiss” Pope wrote on social media.

Tonight, the Port Vale player fulfiled his words and scored a splendid goal against Manchester City while Stones was in the opposition. This tweet has suddenly brought attention to Stones’ poor game against the League Two team.

On the other hand, for a few minutes, the defending champions were facing a threat to get an upset against Port Vale but a goal by Sergio Aguero brought them out of the threat.

Manchester City further extended their lead with a goal by Taylor Harwood-Bellis in the 58th minute. Pep Guardiola’s side cannot afford upset in this tournament as they are already out of sight to win the Premier League this season.

Stones remained absent from Manchester City’s lineup due to injuries but his return has not been merry so far with this incident but a win, in the end, will certainly compensate it.
