Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje: When and where to watch the Main Event of UFC 249 at the VyStar Memorial Arena.
The UFC is all set to become one of the first sporting organizations to held an event amidst the global pandemic of the Coronavirus. UFC 249 was originally planned to take place on April 18th. However, president Dana White was told to “stand down” by Disney and ESPN executives when he moved the event to California. The event will now air from Jacksonville, Florida in front of an empty VyStar Memorial Arena.
The event will be headlined by Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje with the interim lightweight title on the line. Ferguson, who has racked 12 straight wins, was originally scheduled to face Khabib Nurmagomedov, the full time Champion. However, the Russian returned to his homeland amid the Pandemic and is currently unable to travel back to the U.S.

The winner of this match will be named the Interim Champion, and will earn the right to face Khabib later this year for the right to be the undisputed UFC lightweight champion.
UFC 249 will also be co-main evented by bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo, who will face former champion, Dominick Cruz. This will be Cruz’s first match in the octagon since losing the title back in 2016. Coincidentally, this is also Cejudo’s first defense of the title.
