It was a monster, monster lap from Lewis Hamilton, dishing out a time of 1m36.015s to take pole in Singapore.

Ferrari seemed to be faster during Free Practice, but when it mattered, the Brit once again stepped up to the plate to beat the Ferrari challenge.

Vettel and Raikkonen did not quite have the pace, qualifying in 3rd and 5th place at the end, with Verstappen sharing the front row with Hamilton.

Vettel was fastest in sector 1, but couldn’t quite produce the same speed in sector 2 and 3 and thus ended up with just P3.

Hamilton was clearly ecstatic after the end of qualifying, admitting that it was one of the best laps of his career.

Verstappen too was satisfied with his lap, as he managed a front row spot despite multiple issues with his engine in Free practice.

Vettel was a little flustered with his performance and how Ferrari setup for the final shootout.

He however took all the blame for P3, as he admitted that he had the chance to put in two good laps but couldn’t quite deliver.

A wonderful qualifying now sets up an even more special raceday.

This is how Twitter reacted:
