Roger Federer’s dream run was all set to hit a roadblock when Tomas Berdych found himself with two match points in the quarter finals at the Miami Open. But Federer dug deep to come back from 6-4 down in the tie break to win it 8-6 and thereby closing out the match in 3 gruelling sets of tennis. Federer won 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(8-6).
Federer seemed destined for an easy win over Berdych when he blazed through the first set, winning it 6-3. But then Federer switched off and Berdych started to turn on the heat, taking the initiative in rallies and putting away balls with ease.

Federer will now face Nick Kyrgios in the semi finals. Kyrgios overcame a stiff challenge from Zverev in the last eight but was ultimately able to pull through in the ‘match of the next generation’. Hopefully Kyrgios can turn up against Federer this time.
I definitely got very lucky at the end, but I think I showed great heart today,” Federer said.
“I fought and Tomas definitely started to step it up, but it was a great match at the end.”

"Throwing in a few double faults, that was because of you guys, not because we can't play tennis." -Roger Federer, blaming crowd for nerves.
