Twitter lambasts Harsh Goenka over his MSD tweet
Rising Pune Super Giants won a thrilling match against the Mumbai Indians to kick start their IPL campaign. Steve Smith was the hero with a brilliant 82 as he finished the match with a six with MS Dhoni watching at the non striker’s end. But the drama was not done yet as Twitter lambasts Harsh Goenka over his MSD tweet after the game.
Harsh Goenka who is the brother of the Rising Pune Super Giants’ owner sent out a tweet in which he praised Steve Smith while trying to undermine MS Dhoni.
Goenka said that Smith was the ‘king of the jungle’ and he overshadowed Dhoni completely in that innings. He also went to praise the decision to replace Dhoni as the captain of the Pune team.
There was a lot of criticism directed towards the decision to remove MS Dhoni and name Steve Smith as the new captain of the Pune team. The official statement was that this decision keeping the best interests of the team in mind, but it did little to quell the fury of the fans.
Dhoni himself had won over social media last night when he and Kevin Pietersen were involved in a very funny conversation on the on field mic.
Dhoni is untouchable in the eyes of his fans and Goenka’s tweet created a storm on Twitter. Fans from all over the world started insulting Goenka for his ill timed tweet.
