Twitter reactions on KL Rahul’s century: Twitter was in awe of the opening batsman’s sublime innings vs Sri Lanka at Headingly

During the 44th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between India and Sri Lanka, India’s opening batsman KL Rahul, struck a magnificent century while chasing a decent total of 264/7 posted by Sri Lanka in the first innings.

The chase could not have got a better start as Rahul along with Rohit Sharma annihilated the Sri Lankan bowling attack, stitching a 189-run opening stand in mere 30 overs. The 27-year-old steered the ball towards the third man region off Lasith Malinga’s bowling to bring up his maiden century off 109 deliveries, in the ongoing World Cup. He brought up his historic moment with the assistance of nine fours and a six.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma continued with his unbelievable run in the tournament as he registered his fifth century in yet another match-winning effort. He ultimately got out on 103 off 94 deliveries, with 14 fours and 2 mammoth sixes under his belt.

At the time of writing, India were just 35 runs away from the target, with as many as eleven overs still in the bank. Skipper Virat Kohli (22* off 30) and KL Rahul (101* off 111) were still at the crease.
