Twitter reactions on Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja: Twitter was exhilarated after Super Kings sealed a tight chase against KKR.

During the 29th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at Kolkata, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets to register their seventh IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 162-run target, Chennai got off an mediocre start after losing both their openers in Shane Watson (6) and Faf du Plessis (24) in the powerplay. Wickets falling at regular intervals kept the match in balance.

It was IPL legend Suresh Raina’s 36th IPL half-century with kept the visitors in the match. Despite losing Kedar Jadhav (20) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (16) at crucial junctures in the chase, Raina’s innings was evident of the fact as to why he is rated so highly in the format.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the fourth over, Raina top-scored for CSK scoring 58* (42) with the help of seven fours and a six. It was eventually a 41-run partnership between Raina and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (31*) which saw Super Kings sealing the chase in the last over.

After Dhoni won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, Knight Riders ended up scoring 161/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Opening batsman Chris Lynn top-scored for KKR scoring 82 (51) with the help of seven fours and six sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-27-4, veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for Super Kings.
