Twitter reactions on West Ham vs Arsenal: The Arsenal fans were furious with their side as they were stunned by the Hammers.
Mesut Ozil remained absent as Arsenal suffered yet another defeat in the Premier League, this time to West Ham United.
The former German international wasn’t listed as injured or unavailable, and it was later confirmed that the exclusion of Ozil was a tactical change. However, Arsenal struggled to penetrate through West Ham’s defence throughout the whole game, as Declan Rice’s goal in the second half made the sole difference between the two sides.
The game also saw a reunion of Samir Nasri with Arsenal. The midfielder made his Premier League debut for West Ham in this game, and fairly troubled the Arsenal defence. He also came close to scoring against his former club, before being substituted to a standing ovation from the West Ham fans.
With this loss, Arsenal remain at fifth position, but fear dropping to sixth as Manchester United face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday night.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the game:
Hot take: Neymar has turned Emery into a slight megalomaniac who will seek to undermine any player who pushes back or is seen as indispensable. Club will accommodate.

You know when you’re playing football with your mates and then some random bloke asks to join in and, since he doesn’t know anyone he, runs around way too much just to try and gain some respect?
That’s Guendouzi

FUCKING PUSSY @MatteoGuendouzi, IVE SEEN YOU GO DOWN MORE IN THIS MATCH THAN I DID IN 2014 #COYI ⚒

Difficult to understand what direction @Arsenal is going in. Haven’t got a clue.

Disgraceful @Arsenal. There’s transitional seasons and then there’s this.

Imagine if Emery had been able to bring Ozil on with 30 minutes to go and Arsenal chasing an equaliser…

I don’t mind Emery, but that press conference was a shining example of why he got the Arsenal job. Kroenke wanted a bloke who’d accept not being given any money and not challenge it. He’s just a yes man. Just cancel Arsenal until they want to have a proper go at Football again.

Arsenal have had 58 per cent possession and have managed two shots on target. One from Guendouzi, one from Lacazette well over an hour ago.

Arsenal have not kept a clean sheet away from home in the Premier League since Unai Emery took charge.
