Here is how Twitter reacted to Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal.
Arsenal’s winless streak against the top six remains unceasing following their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola made three changes which saw Bernardo Silva, Nicolas Otamendi, and Ilkay Gundogan come in for Danilo, Leroy Sane, and John Stones. On the other hand, Unai Emery’s team included Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac for Mohamed ElNeny and Mesut Ozil.
Manchester City kicked off the game in a tremendous fashion when Raheem Sterling found Sergio Aguero who had to head the ball into the back of the net within 55 seconds of the game. The home kept the ball until Arsenal found their way back into the game through Laurent Koscielny’s header from a setpiece.
The Citizens kept on pushing, but Unai Emery’s side were stubborn and did not leave much space at the back. However, during the 44th minute, a tiny lapse of concentration from Stephan Leichsteiner saw the same duo combining again to lead the game just before the half-time.
In the second half, Arsenal ran out of gas and surrendered to Manchester City who were handed out the victory too easily. The Citizens took 13 shots in the second half compared to Arsenal’s nil. Leading scorer of Manchester City Sergio Aguero was in the act yet again when he tapped the ball from two yards to out to put the game beyond the eyesight of the away side.
Pep Guardiola would have been very happy with the performance and Unai Emery’s side weakness was exploited yet again through the right flank. He will be keen to address that issue as they are three points away from Chelsea. The reigning Champions have closed down the gap to just two to Liverpool who are the current leaders.

0 – Arsenal failed to attempt a single shot in the second half against Man City; the first time they’ve failed to have a shot in a half of Premier League football since May 2015 vs Man Utd (first half). Limp. #MCIARS pic.twitter.com/2p6KDxRUJy

Arsenal are worse under Emery than they were under Wenger. There’s no doubt about that.

Realistically Man City could be top of the PL in 78 hours (win today, Liverpool draw tomorrow, City beat Everton on Wednesday)
