Oh what a day of test cricket!

It was a day of contrasting emotions for team India, as they went from jubilation to despair all in around 90 overs of cricket.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave a dream start to team India, as he picked up three quick wickets in his opening spell. It was then down to AB de Villiers to conjure up another rescue act, as he launched a brilliant counter attack against the Indian bowlers.

India regained the upper hand in the post-lunch session, as Bumrah got the prized wicket of AB de Villiers. The South African tail frustrated India for the next session, as the lower order put on some invaluable runs, to boost their total to 286.

The Indian openers knew that they had to play out a difficult phase, as the South African pacers would steam in for the last ten overs of the day. But the likes of Philander, Steyn and Morkel ripped the heart out of the top order, as Dhawan, Vijay and Kohli all returned to the hut.

Here are the twitter reactions, as South Africa shade the first day of the Cape Town test.
