Twitter reactions on Glenn Maxwell smashing 25 runs: The Australian all-rounder took on the Bangladeshi fast bowler at Trent Bridge.

During the 26th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Australia and Bangladesh at Trent Bridge, Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell took on Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain to score 25 runs in one over.

Maxwell, who came in to bat at No. 4 in the 45th over, didn’t take any time at all before launching the attack on Hossain. With the 29-year old cricketer starting the 46th over with a no-ball, he immediately faced the ramifications of the same.

On the free-hit delivery, Maxwell hit a full and wide ball from Hossain for an incredible six over long-off. The following delivery saw Maxwell clearing his front leg to thwack a four through the cover region.

In a bid to deceive the batsman, Hossain bowled a slower length delivery but saw it sailing over the deep square leg region for another six. While Hossain managed to sneak a dot delivery on the fourth ball, the penultimate ball saw Maxwell run three runs to give the strike to Usman Khawaja.

On the last ball, Khawaja played an elegant shot to bring up another boundary through the backward point region. The southpaw joining in the act alongside Maxwell meant that Hossain had conceded 25 runs in his ninth over.

Before getting run-out in the following over, Maxwell scored a whirlwind 32 (10) with the help of two fours and three sixes. On the other hand, Khawaja continued his rich form this year scoring his 11th ODI half-century, 89 (72), with the help of 10 fours.
