Twitter unhappy with KL Rahul's inclusion

Twitter unhappy with KL Rahul’s inclusion: Fans were unhappy at the sight of the opening batsman being included for Sydney Test.

One of the major changes in India’s 13-member squad for the Sydney Test was the inclusion of opening batsman Lokesh Rahul. The same majorly happened due to middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma returning back to India to be with his wife and newborn daughter.

Rahul had opened for India in the first two matches, scoring 48 runs at an average of 12 and a strike rate of 50. It was such a year for Rahul where he scored 468 runs in 12 Test matches at an average of 22.28 and a strike rate of 59.01. Barring his 149 against England at The Oval, his 319 runs in 2018 have come at an average of 15.19.

Being given repeated opportunities despite his meagre numbers, Rahul would be hoping to make a significant impact if he is included in the playing XI tomorrow. The only reason behind him not being included would be if India decides to play both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin alongside three fast bowlers.
