“Acted in Self Defense”: Middleweight Star Backs New Dagestani UFC Fighter After His Assault Video Goes Viral
UFC had one of the most successful years last year. It signed a number of new exciting fighters including one of the youngest who was just 17 years old. The promotion is continuing their signing plan in 2023 as well.
Recently UFC signed a Dagestan fighter Sharaputdin Magomedov, who possesses amazing fighting skills given his 17-0 professional MMA record. The fighter is managed by Ali Abdelaziz’s Dominance MMA management. However, even before his debut in the promotion, the Dagestani fighter is making name for negative reasons.
Magomedov’s video goes viral Derek Brunson comes in defense
A video is making rounds on the internet. Apparently, it is of the recently signed UFC fighter Sharaputdin Magomedov. In the clip, Magomedov can be seen confronting a couple involved in PDA inside a mall.
However, things get violent. Magomedov and the guy start to exchange blows with each other. Given the violence, many fans came out to criticize Magomedov’s behavior. However, middleweight fighter Derek Brunson didn’t agree with them.
Looks like he was assaulted and acted in self defense . No question
— Derek Brunson (@DerekBrunson) January 1, 2023
Brunson commented on the video in support of the Dagestani fighter. He stated that as seen in the clip the guy first landed a shot on Magomedov and hence the latter acted in self-defense.
“Looks like he was assaulted and acted in self defense . No question,” Brunson wrote. No matter what the reason might be professional MMA fighters can be dangerous in a hand to hand combat with a regular person.
Also, even after both Magomedov and the guy were separated, the Dagestani fighter landed a hard blow followed by a head kick while the guy was on the floor. The blows knocked the guy out and might have done some serious damage.
