Conor McGregor, due to his own actions, has had conflicts with the majority of the opponents he has come up against in the UFC so far. What the Irishman considers mere promotional and marketing tactics is generally regarded as blatant disrespect by his opponents. Having joined the fighting promotion in April 2013, the 34-year-old has fought the who’s who in the featherweight, lightweight as well as welterweight divisions. Due to his erratic behavior, the ‘Notorious’ one has amassed quite a few adversaries in the fight game.

While one would generally assume that this is the norm, you would be surprised to know that there are several fighters who still abide by the foundations of martial arts, which is respect.

This past weekend’s main event showdown between Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland is an attestation to that. McGregor in turn views it as seeing himself hold the upper hand when it comes to psychological warfare.

Conor McGregor took to Twitter to put former foes Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier on notice, with yet another cryptic tweet.

It was disclosed by the ‘Diamond’ that he has been in and out of hospitals, as he has been battling Staph infections recently. McGregor was quick to wish his nemesis a quick recovery, with a subtle dig aimed at Poirier.

Poirier reverted back to the former double champ in a message of his own, which prompted a back-and-forth between the pair. In a trice, UFC pioneer Nate Diaz was quick to hit out at McGregor and Poirier, claiming that the lightweight mainstays repeatedly get knocked out.

McGregor didn’t take too kindly to Diaz’s words and sent out a response in typical Conor McGregor style.

The 34-year-old tweeted-

“u 2 but just for the w**d, we build w**d company, f*** the p**s sauce I gave that tick at the press conf. Not even a thanks. He going in a box and you going in a hot box for the knock. Hahahaa. I’m in Amsterdam like Sadam knocking around Iran ahahah van dam chop his head quick.”

McGregor’s prophecy of ‘burying’ Poirier might not take place, to put it mildly, considering that the pair are at different trajectories currently.

Not to mention, the invoking of Saddam Hussain’s name, a controversial figure in the history of mankind by the Irishman, has been believed to be over the line.

The return of Conor McGregor!

As per McGregor himself, the former two-weight world champion is itching to get back into the octagon, and fans might be in for a treat, considering that he has provided them with a timeline of when to expect him.

While the prospect of the third contest between Diaz and McGregor, as well as the fourth encounter between Poirier and McGregor, remains intriguing, the likelihood that the bouts will come to fruition is extremely low.

This is primarily due to the fact that Diaz has recently fought out his UFC contract and is currently a free agent, while the ‘Diamond’ is on the prowl for another title shot, coming off a sublime submission of Michael Chandler at Madison Square Garden in early November.

Therefore, it’s best to not be oblivious to the circumstances surrounding these athletes, regardless of their desire to engage in combat once again.
