The pickle between UFC President Dana White and renowned mixed martial arts journalist Ariel Helwani has reached a boiling point in the latest round of their scuffle. This time, it is fueled by White’s actions which prompted Helwani to articulate a response.

The 55-year-old made the headlines on the first of January for all the wrong reasons. In stunning footage, White was seen slapping his wife, Anne White, in a nightclub on New Year’s Eve.

The UFC President has been the recipient of major backlash from the media and public worldwide for his actions. It’s well worth noting that although the video portrays White in a bad light, it was his wife who struck the first blow, initiating the scuffle.

White has since released a statement, reprimanding his actions. The American stated that despite the fact that his wife struck the first blow, he was completely wrong for retaliating.

Both parties have since released their statements, admitting to it being an unprecedented scenario. As per their statement, the pair have dealt with the matter internally.

Ariel Helwani chastises Dana White!

In the latest episode of the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani, who for the past couple of months has had an ongoing verbal altercation with Dana White, addressed the scenario.

To put it mildly, the 39-year-old did not mince his words in his statements directed at White.

Helwani said:

“And so on this day, I’ll raise the same freaking question that he raised about me back in 2016. What are your kids gonna say about you? What are your kids gonna say about your legacy? About the way you treat fighter..About the way you treat people..About your business practices.

Helwani continued:

“What are your kids gonna say about that video? What are your kids gonna say about the kind of person that you are? What are your kids going to say about you? Ask yourself that fu**ing question. What are your kids gonna say about you?”

Helwani’s response is attributed to White’s statements directed at him from back in 2016 when their relationship soured. This was due to Ariel Helwani releasing news about Brock Lesnar’s return to the UFC, which set off the UFC president.

The journalist’s passionate response captivated the attention of the MMA community who backed him in light of the controversy.

What’s next for Dana White?

White is no stranger to controversies given the line of business he is in. However, this is an unprecedented scenario for him, as per his wife and himself, it is entirely out of character.

Dana White has reiterated multiple times, that a man should never raise his hands on a woman no matter the circumstances. So, it is hypocritical of him to behave in a similar manner.

While there is not much further information to proceed from their current standing, the upcoming weeks will dictate the path in which the controversy unfolds.
