Dustin Poirier is set to start the training process in full swing for the upcoming bout against Conor McGregor
In the midst of permeated uncertainty regarding the Conor McGregor Vs. Dustin Poirier fight, Poirier is off to Florida to set foot in the training camp.
Dustin Poirier has probably initiated the final phase of preparation for his January 23, bout against Conor McGregor. The match-up isn’t official yet, as McGregor hasn’t sign the fight agreement as of now, however, as per ESPN’s Ariel Helwani negotiations are going in the right direction. Which gives a hint that the fight may soon get the confirmation mark.
Dustin Poirier though is evidently not waiting for the fight to get the official status, and is stepping forward in the process, to begin the training session in full swing.

Earlier in the year, the Lafayette native was making the same excursions for his the then targeted fight against Tony Ferguson. But that highly anticipated clash fell through during the negotiations as UFC and Dustin hit a stalemate on the payout concern. This time though, it is different as contrary to last time, Poirier has signed the terms, which means, he has approved the fight purse figure that he is bound to receive.
Conor McGregor Vs. Dustin Poirier: Weight Class and Venue
While the date is set, the weight division is also not a subject of contention, as apparently in the earlier stages of formal talks the Lightweight division, where both are also top contenders and also highly ranked (Dustin- 2, McGregor- 4), is finalised to become the ultimate weight destination for the fight.
The venue remains the only topic of discussion. Although, the UFC president Dana White did conveyed a couple of weeks ago, that if everything goes according to the plan then a possible third stint at Fight Island might commence with UFC 257.
