Joe Rogan, One of the most popular UFC outside of the ring personalities and a part of UFC commentary panel, is not included in this edition of MMA’s finest. EA SPORTS has replaced Joe Rogan.
On July 11, when the game was announced, and the cover was revealed, the details of the game were also shared. There are several modifications in UFC 4, one of them being the removal of Joe Rogan from the commentary team. It was made public that Rogan won’t be a part of the video game franchise anymore, since he dislikes doing voice-over for the game.
Evidently, Joe hates doing the voice-over work. Brian Hayes, the creative Director of EA SPORTS’ UFC series, recently stated the reason behind Rogan’s non inclusion, and said; “Joe Rogan absolutely hates doing voice-over for the game. We’ve basically come to an agreement that we’re not going to ask [Rogan] to do it anymore because he hates it.”
It came out as a surprise for many, as Rogan has been a part of the game, since its inception. On top of that Rogan’s replacement figure also perplexed the potential and past users, as it is none other than the legendary fighter, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier.
Joe Rogan Criticized Video Games
Joe Rogan, who has arguably the most famous podcast show in the world, “The Joe Rogan Experience”, recently on his podcast criticized video games. He said; “Video games are a real problem. They’re a real problem. You know why? Because they’re f***ing fun. I have a real problem with them. You do them, and they’re real exciting, but you don’t get anywhere”.
Rogan continued: “You could be doing something exciting and fun, or you could just be playing fing video games. Three years later you could just be that same kid, just playing video games, waiting for the next whatever the f game is… and you’re gonna waste your time.” (Source)
Rogan’s statements on video games caught the attention of various streamers, and they disagreed with his claims, and put forth themselves as the model of success. Success which they claim, they attained attained just by playing video games.
