In a time of controversy surrounding Spotify and Joe Rogan, Rumble, a self-proclaimed free-speech centric platform, made a sly offer of $100 million to lure Rogan to switch sides. Established in 2013 as an alternative to YouTube, Rumble has steadily gained popularity, particularly among right-wing users. What’s more, Rumble even took Andrew Tate over to their side with a multi-million deal.

Since its inception, Rumble has positioned itself as a formidable contender to the video tech giant. Serving as a platform for individuals to express their views freely, it has attracted a growing user base seeking an alternative space for unrestricted discourse.

Rumble’s rise to prominence is due to its appeal to conservative voices seeking an alternative platform for their content.

Amidst the turmoil faced by Spotify in 2020, with numerous music artists withdrawing their content from the platform, even Joe Rogan himself was not spared from the repercussions.

The renowned podcaster encountered his fair share of challenges, further fueling the fire of controversy surrounding Spotify and its handling of free speech issues. As Rumble’s offer came knocking on his door, Rogan found himself caught in the cross-hairs of a shifting media landscape.

Rumble gave a crazy $100 million offer to Joe Rogan

In a surprising move, Chris Pavlovski, the Chief Executive of Rumble, took to Twitter to announce his intention of offering Joe Rogan an astounding $100 million.

Pavlovski’s proposal was simple yet enticing: Rogan would have to migrate his entire collection of podcast episodes to Rumble. Moreover, they even struck a deal worth millions with controversial influencer Andrew Tate. He wrote:

“Hey @joerogan, we are ready to fight alongside you. See the note from our CEO @chrispavlovski…”

Pavlovski’s tweet also highlighted an enticing promise—Rogan would enjoy unrestricted creative freedom on the platform. Regardless of the type of content he wished to produce, Rumble pledged not to censor Rogan’s podcast.

This offer even includes the 70 episodes that were a part of removal from Spotify. This was providing Rogan with an opportunity to reclaim and showcase his complete body of work on a new platform.

Why Rogan didn’t shift to Rumble

Despite the audacious $100 million offer from Rumble, Joe Rogan ultimately decided against making the switch. His reasoning was straightforward—he was loyal to Spotify, as the platform had stood by him throughout the controversy. However, Andrew Tate’s situation was different, so he did not mind shifting to Rumble.

He said:

No, Spotify has hung in with me, inexplicably. Let’s see what happens.

Furthermore, Rogan recognized the immense value of Spotify’s platform and its dominant position within the industry. With its massive reach and vast audience, Spotify provided Rogan with a significantly larger stage to showcase his podcasts.

Ultimately, Rogan’s decision to stay put was driven by his appreciation for the support he received from Spotify and the unparalleled exposure it offered.
