UFC Pay-Per-View

UFC as an organization is known for putting up great fight nights and pay-per-view cards. At UFC 288 we saw the dust settle between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo. Fans now are eager for the next pay-per-view, which is UFC 289.  Saturday, June 10th this card will be live from Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC, Canada.

The card will be headlined by the women bantamweights. Amanda Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against Irene Aldana.

UFC 289: Fighters that will compete on this card

The main event of UFC 289 was previously supposed to be Amanda Nunes vs Julianna Pena 3. The fight would have been exciting as both of them were 1 and 1 against each other. However, Juliana Pena won’t be able to fight due to an injury, and it is Irene Aldana’s gain.

Amanda Nunes is the real lioness in the women’s division and a tough fight for anyone. However, fans do have a lot of expectations from Irene Aldana. Nunes could be very close to retirement, as she is the one lady who has done it all in the UFC.

Main Card:

  • Amanda Nunes vs Irene Aldana
  • Charles Olivera vs Beneil Dariush
  • Mike Malott vs Adam Fugitt
  • Dan Ige vs Nate Landwehr
  • Marc-Andre Barriault vs Eryk Anders

Charles Olivera vs Beneil Dariush was also postponed and is now happening on this card of UFC 289. This is the most important fight in the lightweight division. The winner of this fight will decide the number one contender in the lightweight division.

UFC 289: Prelims and Early Prelims

As stacked as the main card is, we have prelims and early prelims, which are equally exciting. The fight night will be a long one as we have many fights on this fight card.

Prelims:

  • Matt Schnell vs David Dvorak
  • Khalil Rountree Jr vs Chris Daukaus
  • Nassoudine Imavov vs Chris Curtis
  • Hakeem Dawodu vs Lucas Almeida

Early Prelims:

  • Aiemann Zahabi vs Aoriqileng
  • Kyle Nelson vs Blake Bilder
  • Diana Belbita vs Maria Olivera
  • Miranda Maverick v Jasmine Jasudavicius

The two of the most talked about fighters in the prelims are Khalil Rountree and Nassoudine Imavov. Imavov has got a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. This middleweight fighter has shown a lot of promise in the UFC.

Rountree on the other hand is one of the best Muay Thai guys when it comes to the light heavyweight division. A fierce striker who has a record of 12 wins and 5 losses hasn’t come to the party yet. His dangerous striking can take him to the top, and that’s what he would want.

What are your predictions?
