Conor McGregor, the former UFC lightweight champion, is well known for his scathing jabs at rival fighters, particularly Khabib Nurmagomedov. Even after more than four years after their historic battle, ‘The Notorious’ couldn’t stop trash-talking the Russian star. McGregor’s actions in relation to Nurmagomedov, however, appear to have irritated the latter’s close pals. Henry Cejudo, a former UFC dual-weight champion, is one of them.
‘Triple C’ is one of the best UFC fighters of all time. Despite retiring in 2020, California born spent his time training some elite UFC fighters for their career. However, Cejudo refused to assist McGregor in his UFC comeback because of his jabs at the former’s friend Nurmagomedov.
What did Henry Cejudo say about Conor McGregor trash-talking Khabib Nurmagomedov?
McGregor recently criticized his former opponent Nurmagomedov during a Twitter conversation with a fan. ‘The Notorious’ referred to ‘The Eagle’ as a “Fat B*tch With Tits.”
Nurmagomedov and Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, responded angrily to the Irishman’s remarks. The CEO of Dominance MMA brought up McGregor’s loss to Nurmagomedov and the post-fight saga in response.
He wrote, “You don’t learn your lesson do you remember what he did to you before and after the fight.” Meanwhile, ‘Triple C,’ who has previously trained Jon Jones, Zhang Weili, and others, stated that he was not interested in training McGregor for his UFC comeback due to the latter’s comments about Nurmagomedov and his father.
During UFC 288 media day, when asked about training McGregor, Cejudo said, “No, I think he’s offended too many of my good friends… Calling my manager, a rat, a terrorist, all that… To me, I get sports, I get the entertainment side, but that’s just a little too much for me. I know he would like it but I couldn’t do that to Khabib or Ali.”
The return of Henry Cejudo
‘The King of Cringe’ retired in 2020 with a double champion title and a professional record of 16-2. Cejudo’s enthusiasm for the sport, however, did not fade as he persisted in the fight business.

‘Triple C’ declared last year that he intends to come out of retirement and compete for the UFC belt once more. Surprisingly, the promotion has fulfilled his goal. The California-born will make his UFC return this weekend.
On May 6, 2023, at UFC 288, Cejudo will fight for the bantamweight championship against Aljamain Sterling at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. It would be intriguing to see if Cejudo is still in his previous form after such a long layoff.
What are your thoughts on Cejudo’s comeback? What do you guys think about Cejudo’s stand for Nurmagomedov?
