“My Biggest Fear as a Fighter Is Exactly What We Just Saw”: MMA World in Shock After Damar Hamlin Injury Ft. Dustin Poirier, Paige Vanzant, Khabib’s Friend, and More
The sports world is in absolute shock after what happened at the NFL game between Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills. 24-year-old Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest right after a collision with an opposition player and collapsed on the field.
Although injuries are common in violent sports like NFL and MMA, this was an event that shocked the whole sports community. Following the incident, many came out and sent prayers to the young player. Even the UFC stars joined the bracket.
MMA stars react to Damar Hamlin incident
Following the event, the game was stopped and Hamlin was taken right to the hospital via an ambulance that arrived at the scene. According to reports, the young NFL star is in critical condition.
Thus many notable names in the MMA community took to their social media accounts and talked about the incident. Former lightweight interim champion Dustin Poirier posted a folded hands emoji.

Meanwhile, Michael Chiesa wrote, “My biggest fear as a fighter is exactly what we just saw in this football game. My prayers go out to Damar Hamlin and his family.” Welterweight fighter and a good friend of Russian MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, Belal Muhammad sent out prayer via his tweet.
Former UFC female star Paige VanZant uploaded an Instagram story for Damar Hamlin. She also posted another story with a link to Damar Hamlin’s charity funds. VanZant apparently donated $1000 to Hamlin’s charity.

The 24-year-old was given CPR immediately after he collapsed on the field. He was down for almost 15 minutes while his teammates wept by his side. Fortunately, Hamlin’s heartbeat was resorted.
Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.

Hamlin was taken to the hospital and the game was postponed immediately. Buffalo Bills players huddled on the field and prayed for their teammates. Now the whole sports world is praying in the hope of good news.
