Money has, for the better part of the time, been a pivotal factor when making life decisions, especially in professional sports. Due to the extensive observers, they garner.

And more often than not, the revenue they drive in is the primary reason behind certain integral choices. Conor McGregor’s bout with Floyd Mayweather would serve as the best example of this scenario.

Allen stated:

“Love seeing people call Cristiano Ronaldo greedy for signing for big money at the end of his career.. Who wouldn’t take £485000 a day”

In the wake of Lionel Messi’s World Cup triumph, and not to forget, his contentious interview with Piers Morgan, that led to his fallout with Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t offered a great many options.

So, with all things considered, in no manner was it a bad decision to accept an offer that will see the five-time Champions League winner receive $400 Million for two years.

In fact, one can make the argument that it is an exceptionally favorable offer.

Allen recently overcame the strenuous challenge of Calvin Kattar with a second-round TKO victory. The Briton emerged victorious following an ACL tear suffered by Kattar right at the inception of the second round.

The 28-year-old was eyeing an interim title shot, given the fact that 145lbs champion, Alexander Volkanovski is in pursuit of another championship. However, the circumstances of the contest did not make for a convincing argument for Allen.

Presently, the landscape at the top of the division has been awarded direction as Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett are set to collide in Perth, Australia for the interim UFC Featherweight championship. On the same card that Volkanovski hopes to capture double champion status.

However, the Englishman did once mention that he hoped to replicate the success of former 145lbs champion, Conor McGregor by being the first European fighter to clinch the Featherweight title.

As things stand, the most plausible option for Allen would be to wait and ride out the tide. See how the division plays out, before making an inevitable return to the ring.
