Petr Cech’s future at Arsenal: The goalkeeper suffered a hamstring injury in September, and has since failed to make an appearance in the league.
Arsenal are currently 5th in the league table. The side registered a much-needed victory against Fulham earlier this week, after the side suffered a crushing 5-1 loss against league leaders Liverpool.
The side is three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but a shaky run in December has reduced their gap with the six-placed Manchester United as well, who registered four successive victories under their new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In the January transfer window, Arsenal have been in the news significantly for the rumored departure of Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey. However, Unai Emery has confirmed that another star could be on his way out.
Petr Cech, who has been one of the key first-team members since the arrival of Bernd Leno this season, could leave the club this month.
Petr Cech’s future at Arsenal:
Petr Cech has made seven league appearances so far, but his last game in the Premier League came in September against Watford.
Bernd Leno has stepped up impressively for Arsenal ever since replacing Petr Cech in October, and has become one of the mainstays in the Arsenal’s starting XI.
Unai Emery is unsure whether Petr Cech will still be an Arsenal player when the January transfer window slams shut.

“But I am happy with him. We will speak in the future with the player and the club, but at the moment I want his focus the same on each training and each match. And then we will decide what is best for him and the club.”

Justifiably, Petr Cech has grown frustrated with the lack of game time. When asked about his future, Unai Emery refused to confirm that the Czech former international will stay beyond January.
“I don’t know now, it has to do with the club and the player,” Emery said about the future of Cech.
“He started this season very well, very good behaviour, commitment and also performance. And then when he had his injuries, he recovered his position on the bench.”
Cech, however, stated that the club will talk to Cech on his situation.
