Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has fallen down in the United ranks and the latest news from The Express state that he is on his way out of Old Trafford. The Englishman has reportedly agreed to a deal with Tottenham and may leave in January.

Luke Shaw’s United career never took off and has been plagued with unfortunate injuries from time to time. He has struggled with form and fitness and his reported issues with Mourinho have made things worse.

Mourinho questioned Shaw’s attitude and looks all set to cash in on the 22-year-old Englishman in the coming January window.

Pochettino interested in the fullback:

Reports suggest Pochettino is very interested in bringing Shaw to North London along with Ross Barkley from Everton. After a failed attempt in the summer to sign Barkley from Everton, Pochettino looks all set to sign both the English youngsters in January.

Luke Shaw arrived at United with a lot of buzz and expectations. His transfer fee which was in the range of £30m made him the costliest teenager before the likes of Anthony Martial and Kylian Mbappe burst onto the scene.

Luke Shaw was one of the most sought-after youngsters in the world when he arrived at United and was destined to be a world class fullback. Things haven’t gone his way and with Mourinho publicly questioning his attitude, looks all set to leave.

Shaw is earning a staggering £130,000/week at Manchester United and Mourinho is looking to free up his wage kitty to bring in reinforcements in January. Also, with reports of Danny Rose’s interest in Manchester United, a swap deal cannot be ruled out.

Shaw has fiery pace and his strong crossing skills make him an asset to any team he plays for and still has a lot of time to transform into a world class fullback.

Contrary to his current time at United, his initial days at the club were extremely impressive. However major injuries put brakes on his career and thus has hampered his progress to become a world-class defender.

A deal beneficiary for both the sides:

At 22, a reunion with his former manager, Pochettino, could be all that Shaw needs to reignite his career. Pochettino knows his game very well and a fully fit Luke Shaw looks like a world class player.

Mourinho doesn’t look like he’s going to sway away from his stance about Shaw and his attitude. So a move away from Old Trafford would be a logical move. A fresh start at Spurs under Pochettino would enable Shaw to fulfil his potential and finally stand up to the promise he showed at the early stages of his career.
