Omen is a teleporting menace who can always trick his enemies into thinking he is some place or the other. However, there are specific ways to play and counter him. We will discuss everything in the book in this guide.

Omen can be a helpful Agent because he can be played as a lurker, a duelist, and a support flasher. His Paranoia covers a lot of ground and can flash all enemies at once. It is important to learn his skills and abilities and their applications inside and out to utilize him to the fullest. Let us take a look.

Abilities

Q: Paranoia

INSTANTLY fire a shadow projectile forward, briefly reducing the vision range of all players it touches. This projectile can pass straight through walls.

E: Dark Cover

EQUIP a shadow orb and see its range indicator. FIRE to throw the shadow orb to the marked location, creating a long-lasting shadow sphere that blocks vision. HOLD ALTERNATE FIRE while targeting to move the marker further away. HOLD the ability key with targeting to move the marker closer.

C: Shrouded Step

EQUIP a shadow walk ability and see its range indicator. FIRE to begin a brief channel, then teleport to the marked location.

X: From the Shadows

EQUIP a tactical map. FIRE to begin teleporting to the selected location. While teleporting, Omen will appear as a Shade that an enemy can destroy to cancel his teleport.

Attack Side Strategies

Omen can be an aggressive agent on the attacker’s side. The best part about the Agent is that he can be unpredictable, and enemies can have a tough time figuring out where he is based on the several ques from his abilities. Paranoia can blind and deafen an enemy, which allows him to sneak behind enemy lines.

The Shrouded Step is the most robust Omen ability. It can allow Omen to go wherever he wants. However, it can leave him vulnerable to attacks from everywhere. The best way to use him on the attack is to put down smoke nearby and teleport there.

The best way to utilize him is to use Paranoia to flash the site and let your duelists make the first contact. Although, trading your teammates is essential. Lurking should also be on your list if you want to be an effective Omen. The reason is that you can always get out using the Ultimate.

You can use that Ultimate to either collect the bomb and transport it to you or rotate it over to your teammates after lurking and gathering information. Remember, try to do risky teleports; in most cases, it might get you killed; however, sometimes, it might give you the advantage.

Use your smokes to cover spots on top of the site and teleport there. It is an unexpected play that sometimes the enemy won’t expect.

Defender Side Strategies

Your objective on the defender side is to use the smoke to keep the site safe. However, do not be afraid to be aggressive. Find off angles or teleport to higher ground to grab information or get a free kill. You can also use the Operator while Omen; many professional players have done that before, so do not be afraid to pick up a Sniper.

Paranoia is a huge delaying tool used to stop site hits. Let it rip when you hear enemies entering the site, or use it during site hits to catch enemies off guard. It can very well turn the tide of the battle in your favor. You can also flank the enemies if you do not hear the enemies coming to you after a while. You can always retreat if enemies find out about your position.

Retaking is essential as well. In your attempt to delay your enemies, do not die. It is important to live to fight another day if you are overwhelmed. It is okay to fall back and retake with your teammates, and you should lead them with your Paranoia and Dark Covers.

Tips and Tricks

You can use specific tips and tricks to play as Omen better. You can check them out below.

  • Teleport to unique angles, both on attack and defense. After you smoke the site and are waiting for your duelists to enter, you have to teleport to some other place or in an angle where they do not expect you to be so that you can further turn the tide of the battle in your favor.
  • Paranoia and the Shrouded Step combine well together. If you know enemies are beyond walls, use the flash and teleport past them to pick up an easy kill.
  • Use One-Way smokes. It takes time to learn them, but once you do, you can build even more Paranoia into enemies and stop them from taking map control. It is one of the best ways pro players use to keep map control to them.
  • Use your smokes to teleport into them. It is an excellent cover, and enemies usually won’t expect them. You can also send smoke out and use the Ultimate inside it.

Having said that, you should know those things about Omen to play him best in Valorant. Utilize him using the tips above or watch some professional player VODs to learn him better. For more Valorant content, click here.
