One such legend managed to turn back time as he set the pitch on fire. The legendary Dutchman Robin Van Persie was at his elements in the testimonial last night. He helped the All stars equalize by providing a quality assist to Robbie Keane who was left with the simple task of tapping the goal in.

After half-time, it was Persie’s turn to put his name on the scoreboard. A few minutes after the half-time, Persie played the ball to Tim Cahill who flicked the ball with a beautiful backheel. Persie, on the run, collected the ball smoothly and rocketed it behind Joe Hart to give them the lead.

The fact that he did this whilst wearing Manchester United shin pads made it mean all the more to the Red Devils fans who were reminded of their glory days when they dominated Manchester and the Premier League itself.

Robin Van Persie spent many years with Arsenal but failed to win the Premier League with them. He controversially left the club to join Manchester United where he won the title in his debut season.
One would have thought that he would be considered more of an Arsenal legend then a United one. However, it seems that the players loyalty lies with the red of Manchester and the fans don’t mind one bit.
