Virat Kohli shares tips with Moeen Ali

Virat Kohli shares tips with Moeen Ali: Royal Challengers captain’s sharing tips with England all-rounder didn’t go well on Twitter.

During the 35th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a formidable 218/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

After KKR captain Dinesh Karthik put the visitors in to bat, the visiting captain in Virat Kohli took the onus on himself as he scored his fifth IPL century. The pinnacle of Royal Challengers’ innings was a 95-run partnership between Kohli and Moeen Ali for the third wicket.

The southpaw scoring 66 (28) with the help of five fours and six sixes had literally changed the course of RCB’s innings. It was only after Ali’s brisk knock that Kohli opened up in the needed manner.

Speaking during the innings break, Ali unveiled that it was Kohli who gave him tips to read Knight Riders’ leg-spinner Piyush Chawla’s googly. “He [Virat Kohli] just told me about the googly against [Piyush Chawla] – he asked me to keep it simple and hit the ball hard. There’s good bounce for the seamers but one side is a smaller side,” Ali was quoted as saying.

“We needed to be brave in the batting unit and that’s what we tried to do tonight. I think I’ll bowl a little bit. It’s going to be tough against them as they have a couple of big hitters. Virat is an amazing player. Especially the running between the wickets; him and AB keep me running,” Ali further said during the interview.

The certitude that Kohli shared tips with Ali didn’t go too well with users on social media platform Twitter.
