Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan’s impromptu Bhangra moves as they walk onto the field
India finished on 85-2 in the second innings as the match against Essex ended in a draw.
Before the start of the 5-Test match series against England, India played a 3-day practice match against Essex on the County Ground in Chelmsford which ended in a draw on Friday. However, on the final day, the Indian players walked into a unique setting which was arranged specially for them.
The players were welcomed to the field by a group of musicians, who played some lively Bhangra music. The true-blue Delhiites, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan are known among their fans for their love for Punjabi music and their Bhangra skills. In fact when they were in Cape Town earlier this year, both of them had done some Bhangra moves at the Cape Town waterfront.
Virat Kohli, who was the first to step out on the field, instantly performed a Bhangra step with energy to acknowledge the musicians. It was now the other Punjabi in the team, Shikhar Dhawan’s turn to impress upon his fans with his Bhangra skills. ‘Jatt Ji’ also enthusiastically performed some Bhangra moves while entering the ground much to the excitement of the musicians and the fans.
