Video: Virat Kohli trolls journalist after series win against England
Virat Kohli would have taken great heart in the way his team performed in the T20 series against England, fighting back on various fronts and showing the world that there is more to this team than mere flamboyance.
And while it was a great team performance all through, a few questions were raised about Kohli’s form with the bat in the series. Kohli had decided to open the batting in the this series and couldn’t do much damage, something that not a lot of us would have expected, as he was lethal at the top of the order for RCB in last year’s IPL, scoring 4 blistering hundreds.
When confronted with the question about his ‘failures’ with the bat at the top of the order, Kohli decided to take a leaf out of Dhoni’s book and questioned the journalist himself, all in good fun, mind you!
I opened the innings in IPL and scored 4 hundreds and nobody spoke a word. Now, I have failed in a couple of matches, it has suddenly become a problem,”
“That time people were saying oh! such a revolution he has opened the innings. And now things have suddenly changed after 2 innings,”
While it is unfortunate that Virat wasn’t able to replicate his IPL heroics at the top of the order in the Indian shirt, it is just a matter of time that a player of his caliber starts firing up top.
