In the 2nd ODI against England played at the Lord’s, Virat Kohli overthrow cost India an extra run.

Like the last match, England batted first and got off to a good start. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow got starts but failed to convert them. Both of them were dismissed by spin wizard Kuldeep Yadav.

This was followed by Jason Roy who was caught by Umesh Yadav in the deep. Joe Root and Eoin Morgan then consolidated the England innings. Just then, as a ball went towards Virat Kohli while the two batsmen completed a single, Kohli made an unnecessary shy at the non striker’s end.

The ball went a little far and the two batsmen ran a overthrow. The throw that came back to the striker’s end was towards Dhoni and it was at an awkward bounce.

The ball hit Dhoni. However, the Indian captain too it in good spirits and got on with the game.

Root looked comfortable and at the crease to begin with. He was scoring well and was looking good for a hundred.

Morgan on the other hand was going well and completed a steady half century. However, he hit a full toss from Kuldeep straight into the hands of mid wicket fielder and had to walk off the field.

Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler were also soon dismissed. Currently Moeen Ali and Joe Root are at the crease and if wickets don’t tumble, England are looking good for a big total.
