Warzone 2 Gets a 'Mostly Negative Reviews' Tag on Steam; Player Base on the Decline

Warzone 2 accumulates ‘Mostly Negative Reviews’ after 2 months of release. JGOD proves player base is in decline.

Steam tells us an accurate representation of how a game would be. Game reviews are an essential part of the post-game cycle. However, WZ 2 is clearly one game that has disappointed the fans numerous times.

The data itself suggests so. Currently, this game is free to play on Steam. However, there are still fans who are disappointed they engaged with this game and wasted their time with it. Let us look at the declining player base and the negative reviews.

Warzone 2 Player Base Keeps Declining, and Steam Reviews are Haywire

Firstly, let us tackle the declining player base. As you can tell from the above statistics, the player base is going down daily. There are various reasons for this decline. The game has many bugs that the studio has not fixed; also, multiple glitches persist in the gameplay. But Activision continues to add more paid skins and content instead of fixing those glitches. The fans are frustrated with this development, which brings us to the negative reviews.

The game has 18000+ reviews, with Mostly Negative reviews persisting. On the day of release, the game had more than 10,000 reviews. However, out of those 10,000 reviews, more than 6500 reviews were negative.

This shows us that the game had glitches initially, and the devs continued to push content out instead of fixing those glitches. However, fans have also put negative reviews due to the gameplay changes from Warzone 1.

The new movement system restricts slide canceling, bunny hopping, and more, making the Warzone franchise what it is. If Activision is to stop the declining player base and the negative reviews on Stea, they should take drastic steps to fix some of the glitches in the game.
