WAS vs WOR Dream11 Team Prediciton : Worcestershire Rapids vs Birmingham Bears T20 Vitality Blast Best Dream 11 Team

WAS vs WOR Dream11 Team: Reigning champions Worcestershire Rapids look to make it two wins on the bounce when they take on the Bears today

Having lifted their first ever Vitality blast title back in 2018, the Worcestershire Rapids began their bid to make it two triumphs on the bounce in emphatic fashion. Playing against Notts Outlaws in their league opener, the reigning champions registered a scintillating 28 run win to record their first points in the league standings.

For the Rapids it was not just the win but the comprehensive manner in which it came about which will fill the side with immense confidence. Batting first, they went onto score a respectable 161-6 with Ed Bernard’s incredible cameo of 42 in just 18 balls taking them to a competitive total. And heading into the break as the happier of the two sides in the wake of that ravishing innings, Gloucestershire Rapids went to build on the momentum to implement a pinch perfect defence of their total.

They never allowed Notts Outlaws to settle into the match, snaring up wickets at regular intervals to stall their pursuit of the target. Their restrictive wicket to wicket bowling saw them curtail the opposition’s innings at 133-9 with a clinical pefromance seeing them outshine the Outlaws in all the three departments of the game.

Now up against the Birmingham Bears, Rapids will be looking to resonate the same showing and make it two wins on the bounce as they look to take an early lead in North Group. It’s not going to be easy for them though with the Bears fully focusing on the tournament by indulging in some important warm-up matches preceding the tournament as part of their preparations for the exhibition league.

 Probable Winner

With the Bears not having shown the best of form with the bat in their recent Yorkshire Second XI, losing one and winning one, we see the Rapids winning this one. The depth in their batting line-up is incredible and with the bowling unit a formidable one as well, the Bears are going to find it tough to navigate past them.

Expect this to be a close encounter, a cracker of a match, one where the Rapids should prevail and register another two points infront of their name.

Wicket-Keepers for WAS vs WOR Dream11

Ben Cox from the Rapids is our pick for this one. He remained not out on 21, coming in at a time when holding fort from one end was extremely important and he did exactly that to stitch together a 59 partnership with Bernard to rescue his side from a precarious position of 102-5.

Batters for WAS vs WOR Dream11

Opener Martin Guptill was in horrid form for New Zealand at the CWC but he looked to be shrugging it off with an innings of 27 for the Rapids in their league opener. He stays in our side with Riki Wessels 24 seeing him earn a place in our side for this fixture.

One of their most stellar batsmen, a name who is known for amassing a bagful of runs given his penchant to hit the ball all around the park and dispatch it to the park with ease, Ed Pollock was the first name on our mind when picking out players from the Bears. He’s going to be partnered by Matthew Lamb, another name whose batting style is akin to Pollock.

All-Rounders for WAS vs WOR Dream11

With 32 runs and a bowling performance of 4-18 against Notts Outlaws, we have Moeen Ali being selected by us in the all-rounders’ facet. With English players known to struggle against spin, he’s bound to pack up wickets.

From Birmingham Bears we have opted for the sensational and deadly combination of Alex Thomson and Ashton Agar. Agar picked up two wickets in a warm-up match recently and Thomson is known for his ability to pick up wickets at regular intervals, making them two names who’ll be heavily banked on by them side.

Bowling Order for WAS vs WOR Dream11

His side’s highest wicket taker in 2018, Pattrick Brown. Having recovered from a long and serious back injury, he was back to doing what he does best with is pace leaving Notts outlaws perturbed on how to face him. He’ll be partnered by Ed Barnard, a name who is set to be a difference maker for our side given his penchant to score runs with the bat as well.

The solitary pick in the form of Oliver Hannon Dalby makes an advent into our side from the Bears.

Captain And Vice-Captain

Ed Barnard has been selected as our captain yet again while we have gone in with Moeen Ali as the vice-captain.
